Turn Your Writing Talent into a Successful Marketing and Ad Writing Career

Watch this video and discover how to build a potentially six-figure per year career, even if you're brand new to it!

They said "writers don't make any money."

They were so wrong.

I want to make you a promise:

By the time you finish this video, you're going to see that building a thriving, high-paying copywriting career is not only possible for you — it's very doable.

Even if you're starting from scratch.

I know that might sound like a big claim, but I've helped more than 12,000 students do exactly this, and I'm going to show you how.

In this video (up top!), we're going to cover three things that will change your career options forever:

certificate

How to know — for sure — if you have what it takes to be a well-paid copywriter, and how to get started now.

handshake-heart

How to find work that isn't posted anywhere online, so you never have to compete with anyone for a project.

floorplan

How to build a six-figure copywriting career in as little as 15 to 30 minutes a day.

And, yes, you're really going to get all of that. So grab a pen and let's dig in!

Want even more?
I love that about you.
Here goes:

First Things First:
What Is Copywriting?

Copywriting is marketing and advertising writing.

It's the words in your emails, the writing on websites, the scripts in ads, the text on billboards and packaging and brochures. It's any writing that's designed to get people to take action.

Copywriting = Creativity + Strategy

Copywriters work in ad agencies or on in-house creative teams. They work on-staff or they work freelance. They can do it full-time or they can do it part-time. The options are wide open.

Every single company or organization needs effective messaging. After all, if they can't convey why their audience should buy (or take any action)...their audience won't.

But copywriting isn't about being salesy or pushy. That just doesn't work.

Copywriting is about connecting people who have a want or a need
with the company or organization that has the best solution to that want or need.

What kind of career potential are we talking about here?

Well, 538,000+ new businesses launch every month in the US alone. (You can be a copywriter in any country—we have students all over the world.) And that's on top of the millions that already exist.

And to sustain a six-figure copywriting career, you only need 4 to 6 clients a month. (And many of those will stick with you month over month.)

So...the opportunity is absolutely enormous.

And most of it goes unfulfilled.

What kind of success are people really seeing? Take a look!

If You're Thinking...

"I bet I need a marketing background..."

"It's too late for me to get started..."

"I don't have any experience with this kind of writing..."

Things Are About to Get Really Good:

One of the (many) great things about copywriting is that it's an entirely merit-based career.

Clients/bosses don't care about your degree (or lack thereof), your age, race, gender, background—none of it.

If you can write great copy, clients will hire you.

In fact, in many ways, having a background outside of copywriting makes you an even more valuable writer. After all, it's all of the diverse experiences you've had that make you, you.

And, it's true that copywriting is unlike any other kind of writing but, guess what?

No one is born knowing how to write copy.

Everyone starts out in the exact same place:
Not knowing anything.

What makes for a good copywriter?
Great question!

  • A natural affinity for writing
  • A willingness to learn—and get feedback to refine your skills
  • A talent for putting yourself in other people's shoes and imagining their experiences
  • An openness to getting outside your comfort zone and trying new things
  • A capacity for following proven steps and roadmaps

When someone becomes a doctor, no one says,
"How did you figure out how to do that?!?"

They just followed proven, predictable steps.

It's the exact same thing with copywriting.

The only difference is that most people don't know what those steps are.

Elephant-in-the-Room Time:

What About AI?

Here's the reality: AI is a great tool, but it can only reconfigure what already exists. It can't create something original. ("Got Milk?" Not a chance it could come from AI.)

It also can't partner with a client, read a room, pivot a campaign that isn't working, suggest a new direction on a project, or identify the underlying emotions and motivations a target audience isn't making clear.

Those are human skills. And they're exactly what clients pay for.

Copywriting is so much more than just writing. Copywriters strategize with clients, advise them, brainstorm with them, push back when needed, and guide them toward better outcomes. AI can't do any of that.

The consensus among the biggest names in business is clear: AI won't take your copywriting job.

(In fact, there's a hiring boom for writers!)

But someone who knows how to use AI will have an edge over someone who doesn't. That's why understanding how to use AI as a tool is part of what great copywriters learn today. (And why it's part of what we teach our students.)

Multi-Billion-Dollar Clients and 20+ Years of Experience:
Meet Your Copy Coach

Hi, I'm Nicki Krawczyk. I'm a copywriter, copy coach, and the founder of Filthy Rich Writer. I've been writing copy for more than 20 years, working with clients including Hasbro, TripAdvisor, T.J.Maxx, Keurig, adidas, Reebok, and many more.

Since 2012, I've also been teaching people who love to write how to create successful copywriting careers of their own through our signature program, the Comprehensive Copywriting Academy. To me (and the whole FRW team) being "filthy rich" means having a job you love, being good at what you do, and being paid well to do it.

Hold Up!
Learning to Write Great Copy is Only Half of the Equation

Hard Truth:

If you don't have a proven, reliable, scalable system for finding and landing high-paying clients (or finding and landing a high-paying job)...

You don't have a career. You have a hobby.

Wishing and hoping isn't a system. It's a recipe for failure...

Job Board Sites?
They're Working Against Us. Here's Why.

Sites like Upwork and Fiverr seem like the logical places to start, especially when you're new. But here's what's really happening on those platforms:

•       You spend time writing proposals for free, with minimal chance of success

•       You're competing against people who are happy to charge next-to-nothing

•       The clients there are looking for the best quality at the cheapest price

•       You end up having to lower your rates just to stay in the running

That's not a career. That's a race to the bottom, and it's one you don't have to run. Plus...

Relying on people posting jobs isn't a plan:
It's wishing and hoping for work.

And it puts control of your income
in someone else's hands.

Here's what most people don't realize: the majority of high-paying copywriting projects are never posted anywhere.

When a company needs copy written, they don't write up a job listing. They ask around. They look for a copywriter who reaches out to them.

Which means there's a huge pool of unclaimed opportunity out there, and you can tap right into it.

The Key to Maintaining a Steady Stream of High-Paying Clients (Or Landing the On-Staff Job of Your Dreams)

Imagine you've just moved into a new neighborhood. There's a knock at the door.

Neighbor #1 says:

"Hey, I'm sure we'll be great neighbors. Why don't you let me inside and make me dinner so we can get to know each other?"

Rude, right? Presumptuous. All about what they want.

A few hours later, there's another knock.

Neighbor #2 is standing there with a little gift.

"Welcome to the neighborhood! The lilacs out front are just gorgeous in May. I just wanted to bring something by to welcome you. Let me know if you ever want to get together sometime."

They hand you the gift, wave, and walk away.

Which neighbor are you eventually going to invite in for coffee? Neighbor #2, right? Every single time. Because they were warm, genuine, and focused entirely on you.

That's the whole model for smart client outreach—and our proprietary outreach system. Show up with value first. Be genuinely helpful. Focus on them, not on what you want from them.

It's why so many of our students report potential clients thanking them for reaching out.

When you reach out to potential clients this way—with a warm, well-crafted email that offers real ideas and demonstrates your expertise—you're not being salesy.

You're being helpful.

And, if you want to land an on-staff job, the system works exactly the same way.

When Will You Start Landing Work?

I love this question and I get it: You want to know when the learning and the practice is going to pay off.

So, good news and bad news.

The bad news first? I'm not psychic. And neither are you. Which means neither of us can pinpoint the exact moment you'll land you first client or land your dream job.

Some of our students dig in, give it their all right away, and land their first client within weeks. (Sometimes even days!) Others work through the program slower and more deliberately, and land their first clients within months.

Your pace, your schedule, and your capacity for practice is entirely up to you.

And the good news? If you stick with it—do the work, get feedback, take action—you will land clients.

There's no "failure" in this; there's only giving up. And there's no need to give up! As we always say: You'll land clients, or we'll work with you until you do. (So...you'll land clients.)

Why the Comprehensive Copywriting Academy is (and stays!) #1

I'm proud and humbled to report that the CCA is the #1 all-in-one online professional copywriting training program.

More than 12,000 students (and counting) have chosen us to help them build their copywriting careers.

Here's why:

01

EVERYTHING You Need

Truly: You're getting absolutely everything you need to build a successful copywriting career in our one program. Not just writing training, but help building your portfolio website, the exact system to find and land clients or on-staff jobs, training for how to manage clients, systems for how to charge, and so much more. It's ALL in the CCA.

02

Expert Feedback & Support

You're learning a new skill and you'll master it faster (and better) with the personal feedback from our pro copywriting coaches. Plus, you can get answers to any questions via our coaching calls, including getting feedback on client work!

03

Lifetime Access to ALL of It

Most programs offer limited access to trainings, and all (but ours) offer limited access to feedback and support. In the CCA, you get lifetime access to all of it: All of the trainings, all of the expert coaching, all of the live feedback, plus...

04

Access to All New Programs

We're regularly updating and adding to the CCA program and, once you're in, you get full access to all of it. No additional fees and no gated access. As new technologies and new opportunities emerge that you need to know (AI, anyone?) we create new programs and give you immediate access.

05

Industry-Leading Experience

Some programs offer courses created by big names...but created years ago and with no access to the creators. Others offer courses created by writers with limited industry experience. In the CCA you get the most access to the writers with the most experience; there's not a scenario you can come up against we haven't personally navigated and there's not a question you have that we can't answer.

Let's Clear Up Some Common Concerns...

I want to take a moment to address some of the things I hear all the time from people who are considering copywriting. Because some of the advice out there is, frankly, terrible.

"You need to pick a niche right away."

You will hear this constantly. Please ignore it: It is TERRIBLE advice.

When you're just starting out, you don't know enough about the industry to choose a niche wisely. And locking yourself into one too early limits your opportunities right from the start. A portfolio focused entirely on, say, pharmaceutical copy is going to put off every creative director outside that industry. They'll assume you're either not interested in them or not versatile enough.

Start by building depth and breadth: different industries, different brand voices, different formats. You may never need to niche at all! (I haven't, and I've been doing this for over 20 years.)

"I need experience to get clients...but I need clients to get experience."

I hear this one a lot, and I understand why it feels like a catch-22. But the second half of that is simply not true.

You need experience to get clients, absolutely. But you do not need clients to get experience.

The solution is spec ads: practice pieces created exactly as if you'd been hired by a real company, clearly labeled as such in your portfolio. They prove your skill before you have a single paying client, and they're one of the most effective ways to land those first paying clients.

And, of course, we teach you exactly how to create them.

"I don't live near a big city."

Copywriting is one of the most remote-friendly careers on the planet. Our students live and work all over the world, writing for clients all over the world. The pandemic only accelerated what was already true: many, many companies are completely comfortable working with writers remotely.

"I'm too old / too young / not qualified enough."

As I mentioned early, copywriting is one of the few careers that is 100% merit-based.

Nobody cares how old you are, what your degree is, or what your previous career was. They care about one thing: Can you write great copy? And that is absolutely something you can (and will) learn.

"I don't want to be pushy or salesy."

Then you're going to love this.

Pushy doesn't work in copywriting. Effective copy is about genuine connection: Helping the right people find the solution to their real problem. It's not pressure; it's clarity. And the better you get at it, the more you realize you're doing something genuinely valuable for your clients, their employees, and their target audience.

"Can I really build a serious career from an online training program?"

Definitely a fair question. There are a lot of bogus programs out there, and you should be discerning.

The best way to evaluate any program is to look at what the actual students have to say. With more than 12,000 CCA students, there are a lot of stories to look at. And we think the results speak for themselves. (See below for a sneak peak)!
