A Sneak Peek at the Episode
[2:00] Today’s episode is all about celebrating! Celebrating is important and what we tend to celebrate is hitting the big milestones (as you should), but that’s not the only stuff you should be celebrating! It’s about the journey.
[3:55] Big milestones are made up of lots of smaller-scale accomplishments, genuinely celebrate yourself and what you are achieving.
[5:55] Anything that we do that takes us out of our comfort zone deserves to be acknowledged.
[7:30] If you are feeling proud about yourself and share it with someone in your life who doesn’t understand it, don’t let that make you feel any less proud of yourself. It’s just that they don’t understand the journey of copywriting and what it takes.
[10:30] When you think about how many people don’t make changes in their life you need to recognize what you have done to put yourself on a new career path and celebrate that strength it took to do something different.
[15:00] When you’ve been working as a freelance copywriter for a while it’s not uncommon to stop celebrating and just focus on what’s in the future. Make sure you take the time to pause and enjoy what you have built.
[17:50] It’s very easy to blow past the milestones, even if you anticipate celebrating them, it’s easy to lose sight when you’re in the trenches and building your business.
[20:10] Make a list of what brings you joy and keep it handy so you’re not scrambling for what to do when the time to celebrate arises.
[22:55] It is so easy to let the things we do outside of our comfort zones pass by. They deserve and you deserve to be recognized for that. And when you get out of your comfort zone and you recognize yourself for it, it helps build up your ability to get out of your comfort zone the next time.
Must-Hear Takeaways
As with every episode, we highly encourage you to listen to the entire conversation! But, here are a few of the highlights:
Life is a journey and if we aren’t stopping along the way to pause and take notice and celebrate what we’ve accomplished along that journey we’re going to have a life that is filled with very minimal celebration.
What a big milestone is is made up of a lot of small milestones. We don’t go from one big milestone right to another, that’s not the reality of how it works.
Every win, small and big, deserves a moment to relish that accomplishment, and to acknowledge the work you’ve put in to change the trajectory of your career and your life.
