Today we are taking an inside look at a Laser Coaching session with Comprehensive Copywriting Academy student, Kay. Recently, Kay landed a new role as an on-staff copywriter, but she still feels some imposter syndrome in her new role as an on-staff copywriter.
In this episode of the Build Your Copywriting Business podcast, Nicki and Kate offer Kay advice on how to battle any discomfort she feels in her new position and how she can ask for and use feedback to continue to improve her skills.

[1:58] Kay begins the episode by giving a thank you to Nicki and Kate for the CCA. She mentions how the course changed her life during her transition from her teaching job in China.
[3:20] Kay explains that she struggled a lot with imposter syndrome and even thought about giving up. But, she notes that Nicki’s advice to take action consistently is what got her through the tougher times.
[6:01] Kay speaks to her current imposter syndrome surrounding her new job. She wants to make sure that she is always exceeding the expectations of her new role. Nicki explains to Kay that the best way to know that she’s on the same page with her creative director is through clear communication with the creative director.
[10:25] Nicki reminds Kay that she landed the job because she is an asset to the company. This means that they are really invested in helping Kay develop as a writer and build on her skill set.
[13:11] Nicki reiterates that when Kay asks for feedback from her creative director, the feedback that she receives doesn’t mean she isn’t doing a great job! Feedback is an opportunity to get even better as a copywriter.
