Ep. 102: Copywriting Metrics: What You Need to Know

There are various copywriting metrics that can be partially attributed to your work. But, there are a few things you need to know about copywriting metrics and what they can and can’t tell you.

In this episode, Nicki and Kate explai the must-know details surrounding metrics including the factors that go into them, when you should and shouldn’t use them, and how much impact your writing actually has on the final results of a project.

[1:18] If you have results and they are good results then you should absolutely share them as you put that project on your portfolio site.

[5:30] If something does not work out, or have positive results in the metrics, it’s not all related to your copy. There are a lot of different factors and savvy business owners will understand that.

[6:50] If there is anything you take away from this, don’t freak out about results. Your clients want to know if you can write in different brand voices, they will know that what they need is not necessarily what past clients have needed.

[9:20] As a copywriter you are a contributor to a clients outcome, it does not all rest on your shoulders.

[11:30] Not having numbers to share with a client is not a deal breaker, never make up numbers.

[12:10] Ask for feedback and specific metrics, it’s important to know what to ask for!

[14:00] Making incremental increases can have major results for your client.
