[4:45] Often times we use the words hard and scary, when really it’s just uncomfortable and pushes us outside of our comfort zone.
[8:45] It’s so important to not start off by limiting yourself, by using the words it’s “hard or scary or you can’t.”
[11:00] To achieve the things you really want you must step outside of your comfort zone.
[15:00] When doing something that is a little scary or uncomfortable, pay attention to how your body feels. Do those feelings outweigh the potential benefits to your business? Probably not!
[18:50] You don’t overcome self doubt before you step out of the comfort zone, you overcome it by dipping your toes out of the comfort zone.
[21:20] Ask yourself empowering questions and think about ways to make it more fun.
[30:00] You have to make the decision to speak to yourself in a more empowered way.
Must-Hear Takeaways
As with every episode, we highly encourage you listen to the entire conversation! But, here are a few of the highlights:
Things are only as hard or as scary as you make them. Building the Transcontinental Railroad is hard. Lifting a car is hard. Being attacked by an alligator is scary. Being attacked in general is scary! Pitching, which is fundamentally sending an email, is not hard or scary.
You might be uncomfortable, but it’s only for a short period of time, and you can end that discomfort sooner by pressing send on that email or that pitch!
