A Sneak Peek at the Episode

[0:47] Kate starts off the episode with the reminder that 2022 is the 10th anniversary of Filthy Rich Writer and the Comprehensive Copywriting Academy. She also gives a preview of some of the questions she’ll be asking Nicki in the episode.

[1:55] Kate asks Nicki what made her want to create FRW and the CCA in the first place. Nicki speaks to the fact that Kate was one of the first writers Nicki trained when they were both at a previous company and says that this is where she got the inspiration for the company. Nicki also goes into detail about teaching that first group of writers copywriting.

[5:09] Nicki shares some of the initial struggles of building her own business from scratch. She points out that she really didn’t do any marketing at the start. She emphasizes that the business really took off once she took it more seriously.

[8:57] Nicki states that at a certain point she simply needed to grow her team as the business gained traction. She says that adding to the team gave the business the resources it needed in order to continue to move forward.

[11:07] As mentioned earlier in the episode, Nicki experienced a mindset shift that inspired her to push her business to new heights. She says that this change was brought on by surrounding herself with other successful business owners who were thinking big through a training she had purchased. She says that being a part of the group is what opened her mind to the possibilities for her business.

[14:57] Nicki admits that she didn’t think that having the right mindset set was as important as other details at the start. But, she talks about how important mindset truly is and how she quickly learned that if you don’t believe you can do something, you will never be able to do it.

[20:37] Nicki reminds listeners and CCA students that one of the best ways to grow yourself is to start a business. The more you take action the more you continue to grow, whether the action be large or small.

[25:54] Nicki gives insight into the creation of Filthy Rich Writer’s mastermind, Comprehensive Copywriting Academy Next Level. She tells listeners that she created it to give CCA students the opportunity to have the community of other business owners looking to take their copywriting business to the next level and the chance to be pushed and inspired by their peers.

[31:07] Kate asks Nicki to share how important messaging is for a business. Nicki reiterates that it’s not just important, it is the *most* important thing when it comes to your business. She says that most business owners struggle with their messaging until they find the right copywriter. Remember not to underestimate the importance of what you do as a copywriter and don’t be afraid to pitch your ideas for improvement to businesses!

[36:42] Nicki sheds light on just how fulfilling it is to be a small part of students’ journeys who are changing their lives and finding happiness and success through their careers. She previews the next 10 years by saying she can’t predict exactly what they’ll look like, but she knows that the focus will be continuing to help people become empowered by their careers.

[40:16] Kate inquires what Nicki’s one key to success would be if she had to sum it up into one piece of advice. Nicki states that the most important thing to continually do is to keep going after what you want. She encourages students to never stop chasing what they want and know that as long as they just keep going they will get there.

[43:17] Nicki and Kate close the episode by thanking all of the students for their hard work and engagement. Nicki points out that none of her success would be possible without the students.
