Ep. 85: Overcome Scarcity Mindset as a Copywriter with Mindi Huebner

By Nicki Krawczyk

Nicki and Kate are joined by mindset coach Mindi Huebner to discuss how copywriters can rewire their brain and adjust their mindset to overcome limiting beliefs. One particular belief they cover is the “scarcity mindset.” This is the sensation some copywriters experience where they feel like there isn’t enough opportunity for them to consistently land clients.

Listen to this episode for Mindi’s powerful insights on how you can embrace your limitlessness, overcome the scarcity mindset, and rewire your brain for success in copywriting and in life as a whole.

A Sneak Peek at the Episode

[1:06] Nicki introduces Mindi to the show and gives a preview of what’s to come on the episode. She also points out that at the start of her business journey she didn’t take mindset seriously, but now she knows that mindset is the first thing that you need to get straight in order to find success.

[1:52] Mindi dives right in and states that our brains delete, distort, and generalize things based on our beliefs. Because of this, we have empowering and disempowering habits. Remember, you can’t out hustle your beliefs, but you can rewire your brain to empower you.

[5:32] A majority of our habits are automated and unintentional, which means we often don’t recognize our disempowering habits, Mindi explains. But, we usually uncover our limiting beliefs once something triggers us to become aware of them.

[8:57] Mindi says that the key to overcoming negative thoughts is to try to push them out as soon as we recognize them. She says that the best way to start to recognize them is to start to notice habits that result from them.

[14:27] Rewiring your brain is simply overwriting the current neural pathways with new ones that better serve you. Mindi mentions that each time you intentionally try to install a new habit you are rewiring your brain to turn it into an automated habit.

[20:12] Mindi notes that when we take action that helps create better habits, we are casting a vote for the new version of ourselves. When you can see the vision of what will happen if you solidify empowering habits, it makes it easier to continue to cast those votes for a better self.

[23:57] Mindi illustrates that it’s not healthy or effective to push down our emotions, good or bad, and act like they aren’t there. A more efficient way to handle our emotions is to acknowledge them and ride them for a short period of time, about 90 seconds, and then let them go.

[24:20] A great way to handle the scarcity mindset is to call on empowering emotions to help us power through it. First, you acknowledge the fear and feeling of scarcity, then you call on times where you felt there was enough to help prove to yourself that scarcity is not a reality.

[30:53] Limiting beliefs sometimes appear to be protecting us from something, but they’re really keeping us from what we want. Mindi encourages everyone to step out of our limiting beliefs and embrace our limitlessness.

[39:12] Mindi points out that a great way to learn from emotions is to ask what your strongest emotions are trying to tell you. You can learn a lot about yourself by exploring your emotions and what makes them appear when they are their strongest.

[44:00] Mindi shares the strategy of filing your positive emotions away so that you can access them when you need them. Whether you write them down or have an item that reminds you of a certain memory, being able to use them to your advantage is key for defeating limiting emotions and beliefs.

[45:11] Nicki wraps up the show and asks Mindi to share her website for those who want to hear more from her! Check out the links below to see where you can find Mindi. Thanks for listening!
