[5:50] Nicki strongly encourages out student to start pitching, even if she is applying to staff positions or posting on social media, pitching is her direct line to landing clients.
[10:20] Freelance agencies are a way to get part-time remote work, look at their clients and pitch them! You don’t have to wait for a job posting that aligns with your goals.

“Look at agencies in your area, look at their clients that they serve on their website and if there’s some where you’re like, ‘oh I like these companies that they’re working with, this feels like this aligns with me,’ pitch that agency! Look at what agencies are putting out there in the world if there are job postings, but also know you don’t have to wait for a job posting to pitch them. I can tell you from experience from many agencies I’ve worked with, they all need copywriters.” – Kate
“It’s to get your foot in that door to say, ‘oh yeah we want to work with her because she’s thinking in the way that we want, we want to work with someone who thinks like that, not someone who’s looking for us to just hand them projects.’ You’re a partner, they want that partner and that’s what that’s demonstrating.” – Kate
