Copywriting Lets This Mom Live Life on Her Own Terms

By Nicki Krawczyk 9 Comments

Many of us get into copywriting because we want more freedom: freedom to work when and where we want so that we can pick up kids from school, prioritize our health, take a walk if we need a break, and just simply have some downtime for ourselves!

Courtney, a mom, copywriter, and Comprehensive Copywriting Academy student, was working seven days a week at one point to make ends meet. Shifting into copywriting has allowed Courtney not only to make nearly five figures each month but to focus on what matters most: her family.

As Courtney said in this conversation, “I really adopted this mindset of ‘If they can do it, I can do it.’ I would go through the Facebook group and look for people’s testimonials and their stories of success and things that the’ve done. I’m like, ‘Okay. I can do it! If they can do it, I can do it! I adopted that mantra wholeheartedly and it really has paid off.”

If copywriting is something you want to do, you CAN do it, too. There’s more than enough work to go around.

Either you start taking small actions today and a year from now you’re that much closer (or potentially already surpassing!) your goal. Or you’ve just spent another year wondering where you could take your life.

Isn’t it time to make a change and take control of your life?

Hi, I just watched a podcast with Nicki, Kate and student Courtney Cherry. My question is: how do I save that podcast? I watched it on the Filthy Rich Writer website. Is there another place where it can be saved for future viewings. It was quite inspiring, and I would like to keep it so I can refer back to it once in a while.

I know that copywriting is what I really want to do, but I haven’t really seen any success stories from 2023 June and beyond from your student’s testimonials. My question is what is the prospect for copywriting in 2024, with AI being used for everything from building website to writing webpage, article, emails and more?

Hi there! One of our more recent podcasts (episode 160) features Amanda, a former teacher who got her first copywriting client in April of 2023 and is now making almost double what she made as a teacher!

AI is undeniably the buzzword of the moment. But if you’re worried about the threat of artificial intelligence to the copywriting industry, we’d encourage you to check out our podcast episode about AI—it *might* just give you the reassurance you’re looking for 😉 https://filthyrichwriter.com/ep-96-artificial-intelligence-copywriting-do-you-need-to-worry/

    What an inspiring episode!

Parts of Courtney’s backstory really resonated. Loved her empowering self talk: “If they can do it, I can do it.”
Also, her scrappy, dive-right-in approach to using the CCA courses and finding clients really challenges my tendency to want to get aaaallll the information first before I start.

Thanks for sharing yet another facet of what success with CCA looks like. Cheers!

Thank you for this feedback, Trish! And so many of us writers seem to have perfectionist tendencies, but you’re absolutely right: we don’t need ALL the information before we start. In fact, there’s no WAY to get all the information since so much will come from clients themselves or just nuances from project to project. At a certain point we just have to *do it. Keep us posted on how you’re getting along in your copywriting journey 🙂

I listened to Courtney and was so excited, I enjoyed writing while being a teacher for several years and simply want to do something different. Hopefully, I can find a method and way to listen to some more videos while making a move to take the course.
